RiverStone Health, the Yellowstone County Public Health Department, reported two additional COVID-19-related deaths Saturday. One death is due to the COVID-19 outbreak at Canyon Creek Memory Care.
On Tuesday, August 4, a woman in her 80s who lived near Canyon Creek in a Yellowstone County hospital died. On Wednesday, August 5, a man in his 90s who lived in another Yellowstone County senior housing facility at the facility died.
These deaths are reflected on the Aug. 8 state COVID-19 tracking map, as the death toll stands at 75 around the state. Cascade County confirmed its fourth death from COVID-19 on Friday; the first COVID-19 death in Stillwater County was also reported on Friday.
A total of 16 COVID-19 related deaths were associated with the outbreak at Canyon Creek Memory Care.
“Our sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and their loved ones as they mourn her loss,” said John Felton, Yellowstone County Health Officer and President and CEO of RiverStone Health.
“The loss of these community members is a reminder of the tragic consequences of COVID-19 infections. I encourage all of us to take 30 minutes, one minute for each resident, to reflect and honor those who are suffering too soon. we have been taken, ”Felton said.
To date, 1,261 Yellowstone County residents have been infected with COVID-19 and 30 have died.
