After producing a fantastic performance against Real Madrid in their last Champions League game, Manchester City’s European campaign continues on Saturday night as they take on Lyon in Lisbon in the quarterfinals of the league.
City are very likely without Sergio Aguero for this game, with Gabriel Jesus set to start in his place. Full-back Benjamin Mendy returns from suspension, but Joao Cancelo was able to retain his place after a solid performance in their win over Real Madrid.

To set up this simulation, we used kick-off mode in FIFA 20, but did not select a team to control; we then selected the teams and watched the match by itself.
The AI effort was set to be legendary, with the line-up updated with the latest transfers, injuries and suspensions.
We predict that Man City could have set up a 4-3-3 formation, with the line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Fernandinho, Laporte, Cancelo; Rodri, De Bruyne, Gundogan; Foden, Jesus, Sterling.
We predict that Lyon was also able to form a 3-5-2 formation, with their line-up as follows: Lopes; Denayer, Marcelo, Marcal; Dubois, Caqueret, Guimaraes, Aouar, Cornet; Fergrieme, Dembele.
Manchester City were clearly dominant in the first half of this simulated game, but Pep Guardiola’s side could not find the killer pass well in the final third.
With the second half whistling of the time, Lyon scored against the onslaught of the game to shock City just before the break.
A great counterattack by the French side eventually saw Dembele see the ball over the face of goal square, and with Fernandinho unable to cut out the pass, Memphis Depay was left with a tick inside.
City had it all to do in the second half.
Guardiola’s side started bright after the break and found an equalizer just seven minutes into the second half, with Gabriel Jesus again on goal for City.
A brilliant pass from De Bruyne found Jesus in the coffin, who managed to finish the distant post and past Lopes.
City just got better and better, and finally went ahead for the first time in the game with 16 minutes left to play.
After a quick short corner, Raheem Sterling rode into the box and smashed an attempt into the corner.
City were now unstable and got a third with 11 minutes left, with Jesus again unable to find it with a cool finish in the far corner.
A great comeback from City’s second half had put them ahead of the Champions League semi-finals.
