Voting: Most Iowa do not want Grassley to seek re-election

Five Senate Republicans have said they will not seek a second term, especially in swing states like Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Ohio that create the possibility of more competitive races.

The Senate is considered particularly difficult to beat pro-President Tempe Emirates. In his most recent contest in 2016, Grassley won 60 percent of the vote, beating the Democratic nominee strip judge by 24 points.

The Des Moines Register / Mediacom poll found Grassley’s favorable rating at 48 percent, stable from the latest poll in June. However, compared to previous Iowa polls in 1998, their suitability in the state has been on a slow but steady decline, down 12 points since 2019.

757575 Iowa Adult Des Moines Register / Mediacom Poll was held March 7-10 and had a plus or minus percentage. The percentage was the margin of error of percentage points.
