Sacramento Kings general manager Vlade Divac has stepped down from his position as chief executive of the organization after five years. Joe Dumars will take on the role on an interim basis as the Kings look for Divac’s replacement. Sam Amick tweeted the news earlier today.
Kings GM Vlade Divac has been fired, a source said @TheAthleticNBA. Joe Dumars (former advisor) will be interim executive VP of basketball and will immediately take on GM duties. Dumars will be involved in the search for a new GM.

Divac’s tenure has been marred by problems, including poor drafty picks (passing Luca Doncic in favor of Marvin Bagley in 2018 as a prime example) and repeated playoff failures. The Kings finished the year with a 31-41 record, their 14th straight season under .500.
In other news, the Chicago Bulls today fired head coach Jim Boylen. Former Trail Blazers Ime Udoka and David Vanterpool are likely to be on the shortlist of candidates for the now-open position.
