President Trump on Thursday promised to “hit Russia” as hard as you could spin his head “if it is proven that the Russian government is paying fines for killing American troops in Afghanistan.
Trump and his aides often say the accusation, reported in June, was not confirmed by intelligence agencies.
‘Well, you do not know about the bounties. I mean, you tell me – if you know anything, you could let us know. But you apparently do not know much about it, “Trump told a report in the Oval Office during a visit by Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
Trump added: “But if we thought that would be true, if we found that it would be true – it would be a fact, what you just said, we would hit them so hard that your head would spin.”
Trump also felt a question from the reporter about the hospitalization of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, whose illness is suspected as poisoning.
‘We have not seen it yet. We see it and [Secretary of State] Mike [Pompeo] will report to me soon, “Trump said.
Trump often mentions that he is smarter against Russia than his predecessors, frustrated by Democrats’ claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin helped him win the 2016 US election by hacking Democratic emails. The top US opposition official said this month that Russia once again seemed to favor Trump over “what it sees as an anti-Russian ‘establishment’.”
