Updated odds of the ACC Championship for the 2020 season

Fasten your seatbelts, ACC football fans. The league announced Wednesday that it will adopt a 10-game plus one model for the 2020 college football season, with member institutions playing 10 conference games in addition to a non-conference opponent of their choice. The decision features the inclusion of national elite Notre Dame as a member this fall, which strengthens the conference as a whole and alters the journey to the ACC Championship.

The ACC joins the Pac-12 and Big Ten to announce major schedule changes while moving to a heavy league-only plan.

Instead of dividing the league into the Atlantic and Coastal divisions, a conference-only roster will determine the participants in the title game based on the two highest winning percentages. If the Irish manage to make it to the ACC Championship Game and win, it would be the first time in their 113-year history that they can claim the conference title.

Brian Kelly’s team and everyone else is chasing one of the most talented teams nationwide in the ACC by punters. The first games of the season will take place the week of September 7-12, which was originally scheduled to be week 2 of the college football season.
