Acceptable launch in November
Will suffer it Prince of Persia fans allow themselves to be filled with hope, knowing that Ubisoft’s action will once again feel like a dagger dropped in its chest? Will Ubisoft, after a literal decade of inactivity, finally return to one of its franchises surrounded by (mostly) goodwill? Those are questions we are left to ponder as we wait to see if this new rumor panders out.
Guatemalan retailer Max has apparently leaked a mention for an upcoming one Prince of Persia remake, although it is not clear which game will be removed. It is said that they will launch on PS4 and Switch in November:
Hey psss …

Retailers have a decent-but-not-perfect track record. There are always tricksters and ne’er-do-wells who feed on the fake of things before it all turns out to be a con. However, a product page that comes live a little too early is very much like targeted scams.
Add to that the intrigue behind this, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier tweeted “Video game retailers know for sure that Ubisoft is leaking its surprising announcements.” In subsequent answers, Schreier claims that he knew about one Prince of Persia now months again, and that “[Ubisoft] Keeping secrets that thousands of people know is really hard “while claiming that international retailers place the information in too many hands to keep projects under wraps often.
The timing on this also checks. Ubisoft promised a second Ubisoft Forward stream sometime in September. This is the kind of game that could be easily announced and then have a short two-month marketing print for release. There is a mystical congratulations behind the Prince of Persia series that will help the remake sell on its own. A rapid turnaround between reveal and launch will cut the marketing budget and enable profitability.
Of course, that’s all if you choose to believe. Just remember that the higher your hope is, the further you will fall.
