President Trump went virtual, and it was worth it.
The President raised a whopping $ 20 million as he hosted the first virtual fundraising event for his 2020 reelection campaign on Tuesday night.
The mind-blowing journey is almost double the $ 11 million raised last month by Democratic challenger Joe Biden in a fundraiser jointly organized by his former boss, former President Obama. Fox News confirmed that Biden and Obama will rejoin next Tuesday for a second fundraiser.
BIDEN, OBAMA, THE NEXT WEEK WILL BE EQUIPPED FOR THE SECOND COLLECTOR
While the alleged Democratic candidate has avoided fundraising in person since the coronavirus pandemic swept the nation in March, the president has continued to hold such meetings. The Trump campaign says the president raised $ 10 million at a private in-person fundraiser earlier this month in Hillsboro Beach, Florida, and an equal amount at a fundraiser last month in Dallas, Texas. He raised approximately $ 3 million in an in-person fundraiser at his golf club in Bedminster, NJ, last month.
Tuesday’s virtual fundraiser, which was co-hosted by Trump Victory Finance Committee National Chairperson Kimberly Guilfoyle, came as Biden’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) outpaced the campaign by the President and Republican National Committee (RNC) in fundraising in the last two months. .
Biden and the DNC have also taken a big bite out of the huge cash advantage that Trump and the RNC had. With three and a half months to go until the November general election, Tuesday’s fundraiser will help fatten the president’s already rich campaign chests.
The Trump campaign told Fox News that they plan to “repeat the innovative and inclusive format.”
But that doesn’t mean the highest-value in-person fundraisers will leave. A major Republican donor and supplier helping to raise money for the Trump campaign told Fox News that there will be a “more complete pivot to raise funds in person.”
The president’s first attempt to hold online fundraising events came just days after he made his first online protests.
Trump telephoned supporters in Wisconsin, Arizona, Michigan and North Carolina in separate events that aired on the campaign’s Facebook page.
