Donald Trump has again offered to send the National Guard to Portland after another night of unrest causing police clashes with protesters after unrest broke out outside the northern part of the city.

The president on Saturday asked city and state officials to seek federal assistance, which he said “would” immediately put an end to the unrest that has shaken the city for 86 consecutive nights.

Love is accused of punching and kicking Adam Haner in the head after he was accidentally caught in a protest on Sunday night.

Haner crashed his pick-up truck on a sidewalk near the demonstration before being pulled out of the car and beaten.

Video footage showed a man – believed to be Love – stabbing Haner unconsciously. The victim also suffered two black eyes in the brutal clot.

In a statement Friday, Portland Police Chief confirmed the arrest but did not say what provoked Love to surrender himself.

Also on Friday, a number of federal buildings throughout the city were closed as the FBI investigated a car bomb threat.

Violent demonstrations have taken place over two months in the largest city in Oregon after the death of George Floyd as a Minneapolis police officer.
