Trevor Noah Delights in Donald Trump’s Double Hit by Chris Wallace – Deadline

Fox News’ Chris Wallace got a rare meeting with President Donald Trump over the weekend, and it’s fair to say that POTUS didn’t exactly go through it.

Trevor Noah reviewed that interview in the Monday edition of The daily show of social distance. Calling Wallace “the only Fox News journalist who is not trying to become the next press secretary,” he said, “you can say he was not because it was not a softball interview.” In fact, it was more or less a master class on how no to let Trump get away with it. “

Noah went on to show some clips to back up his point, including one where POTUS tried, again, to claim that the United States has one of the lowest coronavirus death rates. The veteran journalist politely but severely interrupted with: “That is not true, sir.” Trump tried to reply, but after Wallace continued to verify it, the President rolled his eyes and asked for support from his press secretary, who was lurking off camera.

There were some paper shakes and Trump declared himself vindicated. But after Wallace put his network statistics and those provided to the president by Kayleigh McEnany on the screen, it became clear that the POTUS side had provided the fake news this time.

“See?” Then Noah intervened. “Chris Wallace did it two things there that Trump absolutely hates: he proved wrong and forced him to do the homework. “

He remembered the “Looney Tunes” part when Bugs Bunny asked Pete Puma how many bumps he wanted. Check out that and the rest of Noah’s clip above.

On a decidedly more serious note, the Comedy Central nighttime host also paid tribute to John Lewis, the civil rights icon and “Conscience of Congress” who died on Friday. Check out that clip below:
