Survivor will no longer be part of CBS’s fall schedule as a result of COVID-19 production shutdown as SMASH It has been moving since mid-season as part of the network rejig.
Producers hoped to obtain Survivor up and running to meet the fall deadline, but will not be on time. The network said producers continue to work with officials in Fiji at the “appropriate time” to start production with health and safety concerns as their top priority.
The show, which is produced by Jeff Probst, Mark Burnett and Matt VanWagenen, was scheduled to air in an 8pm slot on Wednesday. Instead, the next season of The surprising race will move from 9 pm to 8 pm
The fourth season of Seal team will advance one hour until 9 pm and the fourth season of SMASH, which was planned for the mid-season, will join the lineup on Wednesday at 10 pm
The move marks the first rejig of the transmission network as the Coronavirus continues to cause problems with production. Wait a few more before the end of the year.
Survivor postponed production in March the day WHO declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. The team, with executive producer and presenter Jeff Probst, expected to return to production in season 41 in May.
CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl told Deadline that Survivor and The surprising race They were harder to get back into production than other shows.
