Several members of the St. Louis Blues have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to multiple reports on Friday night.
Athletic first reported that training scheduled for Phase 2 on Friday for the team was canceled as a result of positive tests. No workouts were scheduled for this weekend, and the report says practices are expected to resume on Monday.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said that no coach or staff member is believed to have been infected in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. No report specified the number of players who tested positive, only saying it was more than one.
Blues CEO Doug Armstrong told the Post-Dispatch any questions about the coronavirus to ask the NHL, and Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly told the newspaper: “We don’t intend to comment on this situation specifically, but I will confirm our opinion that the club has taken all appropriate measures in the circumstances and remains vigilant by following our health and safety procedures and protocols. “
