It’s not every day you get $ 10 for basically doing nothing, but apparently it’s at least a few days. Sony appears to be crediting some PlayStation Plus users with a free $ 10 store credit, and tons of people report that free money appears in their notifications. According to GameSpot, there is no need to add a code or anything, if you are among the chosen ones, it will only appear in your wallet.
What is unclear, at the moment, is who is receiving the money and why. I just reviewed my own notifications, and there is no $ 10 there. On the PlayStation Plus subreddit, there is a fairly sharp divide between people satisfied with having received $ 10, and a group of people definitely not satisfied with not having received $ 10. No one seems to have been able to find out what governs
It’s entirely possible that these things ship slowly, and those of us who aren’t anointed yet buy PlayStation Plus to receive our rewards in due course. It’s also possible that this is somehow related to the length of membership, and some people just don’t understand it.
It’s kind of funny, though the net result is that some people had $ 10 when they didn’t have $ 10 before, so it’s not that bad. Until now, the tenth anniversary of Playstation PLus has not been so exciting: the free games were something like the course, with NBA 2k20 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. The special bonuses were the free game. Ericaas well as a special PS4 theme. Not a big punctuation mark, overall.
However, $ 10 is a small bonus. We will continue to pay attention and see if more people receive the notification, or if there is some reasoning behind who receives it and who does not. Meanwhile, the summer sale continues, so see if there’s anything there that sparks your imagination for less than $ 10.
