Sam Smith is better than ever before.
A few days after announcing their new single “Diamonds”, Tara unveiled the hip-swinging new single on Thursday evening (Sept. 17). The accompanying clip shows Smith dancing fluidly around an empty house. “Take all the money you want from me / hope you get what you want from me / show me how much you care,” he sings on a heartbreaking track, interesting on a delicious synth-y beat.
That’s not all. With the release of the single, Smith announced the new title of his album with its Oct 30 release date. “I’m so excited to announce my third album Love Goes. The album is a collection of songs written over the past two years, “a note shared on Instagram.” Each song is a different story. “
“The last two years have been the most experimental of my life, both personally and musically,” he says. “Every time I went into the studio I promised myself that I would shoot for the stars and there is no limit. The result has been so magical and therefore therapeutic and fun. My love for music is so pervasive and all my musical guilt fun. Has become. “No guilt, no shame, just love to sing and make and dance.”
“Even then, I believe that love is the answer,” he concluded. “And with love in our hearts and kindness in our words and actions, we sing forth.”
Back in March, following a global shutdown due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Smith announced that he would delay the release of his third studio album by changing the name. Originally titled “To Die For”, Smith wrote in a social media post that the timing and title of the project “didn’t feel right”, while promising that “this year will be an album.”
