Yellow snow and blizzard code in 17 counties. Warning goes into effect on Saturday

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued, on Friday, a yellow code for snow and blizzard, valid during Saturday in areas of 17 counties.

According to meteorologists, on Saturday, between 2:00 and 20:00, in the northern half of the Eastern Carpathians and in the upper part of the Southern Carpathians, there will be temporary precipitation predominantly in the form of snow and a layer of snow.

During the same day, at more than 1,700 meters of altitude, especially in the western groups of the South Carpathians, there will be gusts exceeding 100-110 km / h, blowing snow.

The counties subject to the Yellow Code warning are: Alba, Arges, Bistrita-Nasaud, Brasov, Caras-Severin, Dambovita, Gorj, Hunedoara, Harghita, Mehedinti, Maramures, Mures, Neamt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava and Valcea.

At the same time, the NMA extended the validity of the bad weather information until Sunday afternoon.

Thus, between October 30, 1:00 p.m. and November 1, 4:00 p.m., in the north, center, east and southeast of the country it will rain temporarily, and in the mountains and possibly in the subcarpathians of Moldova and in the depressions from eastern Transylvania. be mixed rainfall.

At the local level, the amounts of water will exceed 15-20 l / m2 and, isolated, 30 l / m2. The wind will intensify, during Fridays and Saturdays, especially in the southwest, and on Sunday (November 1) in the east and southeast in general with speeds of 50-60 km / h. In the mountain area, the gusts will temporarily exceed 60 – 80 km / h.

Meteorologists say that in the eastern half of the territory, the weather will turn cold during this period.
