Gabi Luncă’s daughter, Rebeca Onoriu, wrote, Friday night to Saturday, on her Facebook page, that her mother had died.

“After 23 years, together again! Sing together the One whom you have loved and served throughout your life. We will see each other again …”, wrote Rebeca Onoriu, along with a photo in which Gabi Luncă and accordionist Ion Onoriu, with whom the great voice of the violin and popular music married in 1964. Ion Onoriu passed away recently, 23 years old, in 1998.

Gabi Luncă, 83, was hospitalized in Intensive Care at Ilfov County Hospital due to COVID-19.

Gabi Luncă was born on October 16, 1938 in Vărbilău, Prahova. Since 1992, he has only sung religious music.

Another violin singer died yesterday. Nelu Ploieşteanu passed away, after a two-week fight with the same COVID-19 disease.

Cornelia Catanga died a week ago at the University Emergency Hospital in Bucharest. The 63-year-old violinist was diagnosed with COVID-19.
