Another 3,034 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, after performing 9,829 tests.

To date, on January 3, in Romania, 640,429 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

574,897 patients were declared cured.

After the tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, there were 3,034 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), these being cases that have not previously had a positive test.

Until today, 15,979 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection died.

In the last 24 hours, 60 deaths have been reported (35 men and 25 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Brăila, Caraș-Severin, Cluj, Constanța, Dolj, Giurgiu, Iași, Maramureș, Sălaj, Satu Mare, Suceava, Teleorman and Timiș.

Of these, 3 deaths were recorded in the age category 30 to 39 years, 2 deaths in the age category 40 to 49 years, 4 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 12 deaths in the age category age 60 to 69 years 22 deaths in the age group 70 to 79 years and 17 deaths in the category over 80 years.

59 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, and for 1 patient who died so far, no comorbidities have been reported.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 8,868. Of these, 1,119 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 4,827,673 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 9,829 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 6,220 according to case definition and medical protocol and 3,609 upon request.
