Contacted by Libertatea, Zărescu refused to give an explanation.

The right-hand man of Mayor Daniel Băluță, Cristian Zărescu has various functions related to the Sector 4 City Council. He is the Chief of Staff of the Sector 4 City Council, advisor to the mayor and, at the same time, a member of the GMS and the Totul Verde Board of Directors, former ADP Sector 4.

And more recently, he is known for registering the right-wing candidate for the Bucharest City Council, Nicușor Dan, speaking on behalf of Mihai Mitrache called “Dog”, a businessman from Orășelul Copiilor. The recording reached the fashion designer Dana Budeanu, close to the mayor Gabriela Firea, who published it in a live show on Stiripesurse.ro.

Zărescu’s rise is accelerated. Thus, the former journalist Realitatea TV and RTV, who left the press in 2016 to become an image advisor to Mayor Daniel Băluță, has a prosperity that is reflected in the asset declarations.

Villa with Marian Goleac

– At 2017, the statement for 2016 contains only one study and the total salary of the City Council and ADP Sector 4: 39,000 lei.

– At 2018In the 2017 statement, the statement also shows 50% of a villa owned, according to the newspaper Curentul, by Marian Goleac, former head of ADP Sector 4, sent to court for falsification of the baccalaureate degree. In addition, he finds a land bought in 2008 in Sărulești, Călărași, which he had not declared a year earlier. Salaries exceed 50,000 lei.

Zărescu has stood out in recent years in several episodes.

• In 2019, he spoke to the media page about how he will coordinate an “online rapid reaction force” for PSD Bucharest. That is, in short, “reactions to the media attacks of the political opponents of PSD Bucharest” and “responses for the people”.
• Libertatea found it in groups of postmen who were advertising Mayor Daniel Băluță online on Facebook.
• In the film “Home” by Radu Ciorniciuc, based on the story of the Enache family, who lived in the Văcărești delta in Bucharest, Zărescu is surprised arriving at a checkpoint, accompanied by the Local Police of Sector 4, to force the evacuation of the people who lived there. A fragment of that scene is also present in the trailer for the film.
• He supervised several actions of ADP4, being surprised even by the journalists of the RISE Project, with whom he did not want to speak.

At the same time, Zărescu was promoted on the party line. From vice president of PSD Sector 4, he became executive president.

Libertatea got in touch with Zărescu, to obtain a point of view on his patrimonial declarations of the last years. The dialogue was short and ended without any explanation:

– Hello, Mr. Zărescu! I also wanted to ask you a few questions about your wealth declarations in recent years.
– If you have this type of doubt, consult the town hall, through the press office.

But let me tell you one thing.
