The parties that will be part of the future ruling coalition have established their teams that will negotiate the terms of the agreement. The discussions begin on Saturday morning, at 9 o’clock, in one of the protocol villas in Bucharest. The largest negotiating team is that of USR PLUS, which sends no less than 19 people to the discussions.

Among those who will negotiate the government program of the future Executive and the division of positions at the top of the ministries and the parliamentary leadership are also the political leaders who attacked in the electoral campaign and who will now face each other.

For example, the USR PLUS team includes Cristian Ghinea and Cătălin Drulă, two leaders who criticized NLP in harsh terms before the elections.

Negotiations begin Saturday morning and are expected to last several days.

According to the latest information from the parties, PNL still wants the two important ministries in the Government: Finance and Justice, while USR PLUS would want at least one of the two portfolios. There will also be heated discussions about the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies disputed by Ludovic Orban and Dan Barna.

The UDMR asks for two or three ministries in the new government, but the Hungarians no longer want the three portfolios they had in the past: Health, Environment and Culture.

An important point of the discussions will be the harmonization of the three government programs. For example, USR PLUS insists on a measure with which they marched in the campaign, levies 0 on the minimum wage, with which the liberals do not agree.

The NLP team It is led by the party chairman, Ludovic Orban, and also includes the general secretary, Robert Sighiartău, the first vice-presidents Rareș Bogdan and Raluca Turcan, but also the designated prime minister, Florin Cîțu.

The USR PLUS team it is also divided into several criteria and includes no less than 19 people. Party sources say “there was a great fight” for a place on the negotiating team and that all leaders would have liked to at least participate in the discussions.
