Following the scandal in Sector 1 of the Capital where garbage has been brewing in the streets for almost three weeks, Mayor Clotilde Armand announced that she has launched an online platform.
Thus, with the help of platforms https://impreunafacems1luna.ro, citizens can report places with uncontrolled waste that have not been reached until now ”.
“I promise you that we will clean Sector 1 like never before. Both inside and outside the city hall. I know that a media campaign was launched against me, led by the Garbage Mafia, because the mayoral rules have changed since a month ago Public money no longer flows as certain interest groups want, the law is respected, public contracts are verified, complaints are filed with the Prosecutor’s Office for abuse of power, etc. Today we have convened a crisis cell for the issue of waste and tomorrow we have an immediate meeting of the City Council for this situation “, Clotilde Armand also said in a post on Facebook.
The mayor also added that “the map will be constantly monitored by the garbage collection crews and the Sector 1 Local Police.”
“We will not leave the streets full of garbage, we will not tolerate any kind of blackmail, we will not give in to the miserable campaign carried out by the Garbage Mafia. I will stay here and fight them. Until the end”, Also wrote Armand.
In sector 1 there are more than 1,200 streets where for three weeks the garbage has formed real piles. They were illegally collected and stored by both citizens and smaller companies. We are talking about a total of 1,000 tons of waste.
This situation was reached after Clotilde Armand refused to pay Romprest’s bills for another four months, reaching a total damage of 90 million lei. The Environmental Guard also intervened in this scandal, which controls both institutions.
