By summer, we could get rid of the pandemic, if enough Romanians were vaccinated against Covid-19.

The announcement was made by the president, who claims that all vaccines approved by European agencies are safe and effective. Also on Friday, the Romanian Patriarchate, in an unusual position, announced that it is pro-vaccination.

The Cantacuzino Institute opened its doors and presented the cold rooms, where the sera will be stored, as well as the vaccination centers.

The National Center for the Storage of Covid-19 Vaccines has a capacity of 1 million 500 thousand doses. The vaccine will be taken to the basement, where it will be kept in special conditions at a temperature of minus 80 degrees, and from here the doses will be transferred to centers in the rest of the country.

A new room was built and special freezers were purchased to store the vaccine in the best conditions. However, the external condition of the building shows what the lack of investment in a strategic institution for the health of the population means.

Reporter: “Is this building, the National Storage Center, in a seismic hazard class?”

Valeriu Gheorghiță, GP in infectious diseases: “As far as I know, not all approvals have been obtained, so there is no problem from this point of view, including the risk of fire and all other related risks.”

According to Klaus Iohannis, the general public will be vaccinated in March, April and May.

Klaus Iohannis, President of Romania: “We will have different types of vaccines. They are all very good, they are all effective. They are all safe. In this way, if we mobilize and go to vaccination, we can end this pandemic in summer. Vaccination is voluntary, nobody is obliged During the Christmas and New Years holidays, if you want to be well, stay home with your family! All restrictions that are now in effect remain in effect.

Containers have been made for the vaccination campaign, which will be taken to the farthest corners of the country.

Registration and triage is carried out at the entrance of the center. Then you will come to a bed where the vaccine is applied. Later, you will be sent to the post-vaccination monitoring area, you will wait 15 to 20, even half an hour, for the doctors to make sure that there is no allergic reaction. If there is an allergic reaction, the doctors will have all the necessary medical equipment to intervene.

The patriarchy announced that it welcomes the appearance of the vaccine, but does not give medical advice in the case of a recent vaccine, on which specialists in the field pronounce gradually or differently.

However, the Church states that the informed consent of each person is required and that the benefits and risks must be clearly described.

In Romania, 5,340 new Covid-19 diseases and 188 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. 1,270 patients are fighting for their lives in intensive care units.
