Weekly chronology of ATI beds. Does Romania have enough places in intensive care? This is what Tataru and Orban say

[ad_1]

We are starting a new week without knowing how and where Covid-19 patients arriving in Intensive Care will be treated. I asked the Ministry of Health how many ATI beds we have for these patients. I have not received a reply. Then the ministry sent the journalists to the Emergency Department. No one responded from there either.

Everything is vague. We walk between institutions, statements change once every two or three days, firm promises are made, which change, are postponed. The situation is dynamic, says the Minister of Health. Let’s see how dynamic it is and how the statements evolved last week.

Monday, November 16, Prime Minister Ludovic Orban said: “The plan for this week calls for an increase in capacity by at least 200 beds. We speak, there are at least 200 beds this week. There are solutions that we have thought about in each region.”

Friday, November 20Orban also stated: “We are increasing the number of places in intensive care units. Our goal is to open 280 new places in the Intensive Care Units next week ”.

This is what i was saying Sunday November 22, the Minister of Health, Nelu Tătaru: “We have around 1,390 beds in intensive care, we have 1,132 patients in intensive care. We still have 280 beds in operation in 24 hospitals, and their operation will take between 7 and 21 days ”.

As you can see, the promise of an additional 200 ATI beds last week has been postponed. If we take into account the statements of Minister Nelu Tataru, who said earlier in the week that we have 1300-1350 ATI Covid beds, and yesterday said that we have 1390, we see that the capacity has been supplemented with 40 to 90 places in Intensive Care.
