The bridge over the Danube will become the most disgraceful museum in history; draws attention to the Pro Infrastructure Association. And that is due to a detail related to the authorities. The association calls on the Orban government to unblock the status of building permits for connecting roads as soon as possible. Otherwise everything is unusable. Live on Digi24, Mariana Ioniță, director of Road Company, explained the problems encountered and estimated that by mid-20203 the bridge will be put into service with the access roads.

Ionuț Ciurea, president of the Pro Infrastructure Association, explained to Digi24 that there are several problems related to the construction of connecting roads and that if the blockages are not resolved urgently, the 20 kilometers of roads will be ready at the end of the bridge. You will be able to drive over this bridge.

“We have connecting roads that should connect the bridge with the existing infrastructure, on the Tulcea shore and on the Brăila shore.

The problems with expropriations and relocations of public services are a year and a half. The risk of this project becoming unusable is very high.

Few know that a bridge is built other than a highway on land. The works on this bridge, once started, do not stop, no cables can be left hanging for two years. The pillars are poured, the concreting cannot be stopped, otherwise it is good to throw them away. We work non-stop on the pillars.

These jobs are impressive and extremely expensive, and the tolerance margin is very small. The roads that should join the infrastructure bridge are built in the sweet Road Company style, that is, they are not built. We will have a bridge without roads “Ciurea said.

He remarked that the bridge should be ready in 2022, and if this construction permit is not issued quickly, we will have unfinished roads when the bridge is ready: “I mean we put 500 million euros in an investment we will not be able to use it.”

It is necessary that this authorization be given in the fall so that there is time for the construction of the roads, these constructions must be synchronized, said the president of the Pro Infrastructure Association.

“So one of the problems is the relocation of public services, more additional expropriations, plus the environmental agreement.

These blockages must be resolved urgently, otherwise the builder will not be able to finish the 20 km of roads when the bridge is ready. In other words, we will not be able to drive over the bridge, “concluded Ionuț Ciurea.

Mariana Ioniţă, CEO of CNAIR, explained to Digi24 that construction started on occupied land, that is, the project was launched before the land was vacated for public services.

The contractor could have started first with the profits, only then with the execution of the objective, but the management at that time left this diversion of public services to the company.

The second reason why the technical-economic documentation was deficient is that Two – three hiring procedures were initiated in 2018 – 2019, which were followed by cancellation, due to insufficient documentation and therefore had to be reviewed.

It was only in August that we managed to have a contract on everything that means the diversion of profits. We have introduced the possibility of granting authorization by sectors.

The environmental agreement is under review, there were changes between the technical design and the feasibility study, additional areas were imposed that are not in agreement.

Then the impact on the goal of protected areas.

We may have to review the environmental agreement at the end of the year. As public services are diverted, we will identify areas that the ministry can authorize.

We will not have authorization in the 23 km of road, but in sectors.
