The mayor of Voluntari is irritated by the decision of the authorities on the prohibition of religious pilgrimages, in the context of the immobilization of COVID-19 cases in Romania.

Florentin Pandele is one of the main “providers” of believers on the occasion of the annual pilgrimage to Iasi, where Orthodox Christians celebrate Holy Pia Parascheva on October 14.

The pilgrims are transported by hundreds of buses paid for with public funds from the Voluntary City Council.

The mayor of Ilfov is concerned by the decision of the authorities to prohibit him from carrying out religious pilgrimages on Romanian territory.

“I am convinced that those who rule Romania temporarily could now find legal ways so that if other activities are open, the locks are open, we can get to Pía Parascheva. I found out today that we can no longer enter Iasi. Parascheva, we will take off the robe of the Most Pious, which will be adored by volunteers, pipereni and those from southern Romania. We understand that on December 6 we will go to the elections. They are allowed, “said Pandele, in a telephone intervention on Antena 3, according to G4 Media .

During the same wiretapping, Pandele also stated that he intends to bring the relics of Saint Parascheva from Iasi to Voluntari. “We will ask the BOR and the Metropolitan Church of Iasi, maybe we can get the Most Pious to reach the cathedral of Voluntari,” added Pandele.
