The first vice president of the PNL, Rareș Bogdan, announced this Tuesday afternoon that a “comfortable” majority of 244 deputies and senators has been conformed, along with USR-PLUS and UDMR, to which 16 minority parliamentarians are added, so The new Government will be formed at the end of Christmas.
“The coalition is clear: PNL-USR-UDMR. It is clear that the PMP did not enter Parliament, the three right-wing parties are left with 244 deputies and senators, plus 16 from minorities, so we have a comfortable majority of 260, with about 36 parliamentarians in addition to the 234 necessary, “he announced Rareș Bogdan.
“From now on, we will harmonize the three government programs. We will discuss the PNRR and hope that USR PLUS will accept as much of our resilience program as possible,” he added.
The first vice president of the PNL said that there was no discussion about ministries, but that “the prime minister will have to have several ministries without which it is difficult to implement his program and here we are talking first of all about the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Community Funds. Europeas, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of the Interior ”.
“All the ministries are still under discussion, we have not made a list that the NLP does not give up,” he wanted to specify.
“I think the newly formed Parliament will be somewhere on December 21, because the terms of the current elected officials are expiring. We can have a new government just before Christmas,” Rareș Bogdan added.
When asked why USR-PLUS and UDMR argued with President Klaus Iohannis and not with Ludovic Orban, who is the president of the PNL, he replied that this is normal, because “the president has an alliance with the right-wing forces to having conversations, I don’t know anything seems abnormal. (…) The decisive word is the President of Romania ”.
Rareș Bogdan also said that there are no discussions with PSD, this party is “isolated”.
When asked if he looks in the position of president of NLP, he sees it “on the nose” and that he has “an important position in NLP, I think that is enough for the moment”.
