Trump posted a nearly 40-minute interview with veteran journalist Lesley Stahl on social media with the comment, “Look at the bias, hatred, and rudeness of 60 Minutes and CBS.”
The president, who appears to be in a bad mood during the interview, repeatedly complains that he receives “difficult questions” while his Democratic rival receives “balls in the net.”
“Be fair,” Trump tells Stahl at the beginning of the video posted on social media. “I would like you to interview Joe Biden like you interviewed me,” he added.
The media “discredited” themselves when they asked Biden about his favorite ice cream flavor, Trump said.
The president also accuses the program of covering up for Biden after the journalist told him: “We cannot transmit things that we cannot verify.”
“It took a long time,” Trump said at the end of the recording, ending the interview abruptly and walking out.
Trump has frequently accused the American media of being biased for and against Biden, but publishing an interview ahead of schedule on Sunday is a highly unusual move.
On Tuesday, he threatened to release a copy of the previous White House interview, “so everyone can see what the biased and fake news means.”
