“Extraordinary images with a pack of wolves, filmed in the Tarcau forest district within the Neamt forest department by Professor Stefan Ciotau, whom we thank for this beautiful video.

In the forests managed by Romsilva – Ocolul Silvic Tarcau 23 wolves were observed.

Romania has one of the most developed wolf populations in Europe.

Wolves attack in packs and direct their prey to places where it loses its mobility, such as rivers, where it dies.

Very discreet and efficient predators, wolves are rarely seen in the wild. The largest species of the Canidae family, the wolf is a carnivore that lives in the pack and plays an important role in maintaining ecological balance and maintaining naturally healthy ecosystems.

Wolves can travel tens of kilometers a day in search of prey and when they attack they can run at almost 60 kilometers per hour. They have highly developed senses, very fine smell, and highly developed hearing and sight, allowing them to hunt day and night.

Romsilva – The Neamt Forestry Department manages 208,670 hectares of forests through the 13 forestry schools, of which 161,169 hectares are public property of the state ”, writes the National Forest Directorate on its Facebook page.
