Prime Minister Ludovic Orban said this Wednesday, at the beginning of the Government meeting, that it should no longer be “tolerated” for the INSP to provide data other than the GCS regarding the rate of contagion with the new coronavirus, after yesterday Government and INSP will contradict each other. official statistics.
- “Yesterday there was a debate in the media, here, the Minister of Health, and you, and Minister Vela, and I publicly declared that the number of people in a locality based on which the index is decided is the one that exists in Population Registries. It is known that weekly, on Mondays, the number of citizens of a locality is updated based on data from the Population Register. Why should this index be taken into account? Because this is the closest to reality, because the Population Registry is very clear about who has a domicile, who has residence in that locality. Do not tolerate more that INSP employees provide public information that does not comply with our decisions. That is why we decided together with the Ministry of Interior include this very clearly in the annex to the Government Decision so that it is clear that the index is calculated in relation to the population that is updated weekly by the Population Registries ”, said Ludovic O rban.

The data specified by the Population Registry, in each locality, regarding the domicile are those that are taken into account for that accumulated index of new cases in the last 14 days reported per thousand inhabitants, said the Minister of Cheers, Nelu Tătaru.
“The evaluation of each index presented at the level of each region was made. I want to specify here (…) that, beyond the initial misunderstandings, this aspect was clarified and the data that are specified by the Population Registry in each locality, regarding the address, are those that are taken into account for that index accumulated number of new cases in the last 14 days reported per thousand inhabitants ”, said Nelu Tătaru, at a press conference at the Victoria Palace.
The Health Minister also explained the calculation method: “Specifically, we take the number of new cases in the last 14 days compared to a thousand inhabitants, and from these cases we subtract those outbreaks found in institutions, the elderly, children, neuropsychiatric patients or health units that are isolated or quarantined and then the number of new cases that remain is reported and the last new cases of the last 14 days are collected and outbreaks are reduced and reported to the thousand inhabitants ”.
In addition, the head of the Emergency Situations Department, Raed Arafat, stated: “In the CNSU decision tonight there is a clear provision that outbreaks, such as residential centers, hospitals, are not part of the calculation by which we establish the incidence and we take only cases that are outside of those outbreaks. “
