The leader of Pro Romania, Víctor Ponta, assures that the political score of the party in the local elections was 7.6%, a score obtained in the first participation in the local elections. Ponta assures that the low score in the Capital is due to an error, because it ran under a logo unknown to people. Ponta shows that it will stand for parliamentary elections, and Pro Romania will only go with its own candidates and the party’s logo on the ballots.

”PRO ROMANIA – the first political test in local elections = 23 counties in which we have county councilors = 7.6% political vote!

On September 27, PRO Romania participated for the first time in the local elections / many satisfactions, many disappointments, results we are proud of but also painful defeats, many important lessons for the December parliamentary elections!

I want to thank all the Romanians who voted yesterday for the PRO Romania candidates – all the activists, supporters, our representatives in the polling stations! I am convinced that we could have better candidates and get more votes / I am convinced that we have made important mistakes, but the presence in 23 councils (in addition to thousands of councils) and 7.6% of the political votes is a starting point . relevant!

In Bucharest I made an obvious mistake by running in an Alliance unknown to voters, with a logo and a conventional political message in a battle in which the main opponents have radicalized the discourse / the poignant lesson is taught: in the PRO Romania Parliamentary Elections it will have only its own candidates and the PRO Romania logo – I will fight directly with the PRO Romania Team from Bucharest and I will assume the candidacy for the Chamber of Deputies on the Bucharest list!

At the national level, I congratulate colleagues who were elected mayors, local councilors and councilors of PRO Romania from 23 provincial councils / in other counties, several hundred votes were missing to cross the political threshold of 5%, but throughout the country our efforts It will continue and, I am convinced, the result of the parliamentary elections will show a significant increase in the participation of PRO Romania!

But the most important battle is always this: the parliamentary elections of December 2020!

In the face of an anti-popular government of an alliance PNL – USR – PMP – UDMR, we will continue to defend the Romanian people, communities and companies (as we did in 2010 – 2012) / we will fight with all our strength and courage with the political forces that took over! Now and we will continue to make political decisions against the Romanians / and we will try to build an Opposition Front even before 2024 (if the PSD leaders also decide to leave the hidden agreements with the Power)!

We will fight for every stronghold in defense of the rights to health, education, work, pension, justice, the environment! And we will never give up!

We are PRO Romania, and we only stay with Romania! “Writes Victor Ponta.
