The three vaccines used in Romania against Covid-19 protect almost 100% against the severe form of the disease, said Dr. Valeriu Gheorghiță, president of the National Committee for the Coordination of Vaccination Activities.

At present, almost 90% of medical personnel have been vaccinated so far and since the start of the vaccination campaign the incidence rate of infection in hospitals has decreased by 87%.
In total, “we see a reduction of more than 60% of disease cases” at the national level, said Dr. Valeriu Gheorghiță.
According to Valeriu Gheorghiță, 629,215 people were vaccinated with Pfizer (from December 27 to the present), with Moderna (from February 4) – 60,916 people, and with AstraZeneca (from February 15) – 6,218 people.
The president of the CNCAV announced the implementation, as of March 1, of priority vaccination of educational personnel. For this, “mobile centers will be built in the Teachers’ House in each region.”
So far, more than 1,560,000 doses of vaccines have reached Romania, of which more than 1.18 million doses have already been administered.
Regarding alcohol consumption, “on the day of vaccination or after, there is no impact on the efficacy or safety of the vaccine.”
The coordinator of the vaccination campaign also stated that, at this time, the recommendation is to administer two doses of vaccine even to people who have been infected with Sars-CoV-2.
