Uţu Rohozneanu, known as “The Emperor”, was detained, along with two other people, for 24 hours, on suspicion of high-risk drug trafficking. Subsequently, the three remained in preventive detention for 30 days.

The individuals carried out high-risk drug transactions, which would be sold to consumers in Bucharest.

On Sunday, DIICOT prosecutors and Organized Crime cops staged a blatant, after one of the 3 defendants sold 2,479 MDMA tablets to the other two, Digi24 writes.

The pills were found in the thief’s car in western Romania.

Rohozneanu’s name is also linked to a drug trafficking case in Spain. Along with his brother and other accomplices, he allegedly tried to sell a large quantity of marijuana. Romanian and Spanish police confiscated 355 kilograms of marijuana.

Uțu Rohozneanu is the head of the strongest group in Arad, the “Emperor” clan.

No fewer than 28 people who were part of this group were convicted during 2010, writes Ziarul de Arad.

The 28 convicted in the case that shook Arad at the time were charged with blackmail, robbery, beatings or other violence, attempted murder, initiation and support of an organized criminal group.

The sentences received ranged from criminal fines to between 5 and 12 years in prison.
