The National Consumer Protection Authority has received three alerts of non-compliant masks on the market, issued by the authorities of Luxembourg, Italy and Latvia. The alerts were sent through the RAPEX system, announced Paul Anghel, director of ANPC.
“RAPEX alert issued by Luxembourg: the product bears the CE marking, but is not certified as protective equipment by the corresponding body. Therefore, it is possible that the product does not comply with the health and safety requirements and is not properly protected if not combined with additional measures. Non-compliance with the Personal Protective Equipment Regulation “, wrote Paul Anghel on Facebook.
As for the alert issued by Italy, it is a protective mask with insufficient retention of particles.
„RAPEX alert issued by Italy: -The retention of particles / material filter is insufficient (measured value ≤ 50% in the penetration test and ≤ 76% in the penetration test). The alert issued by Latvia states that the non-conforming product promotes a protection potential against viral particles, but its filtering capacity has not been certified by a relevant European body.
