If at first I went blind and was looking for the best solutions for the treatment of SARS COV2 infection, now things have calmed down and they are different. Studies and research have begun to appear showing us which drugs work and which don’t.
Two Romanian doctors have analyzed recent studies and say that two of the drugs that are now in the treatment regimen in Romania have no benefit, but rather various side effects, writes mediafax.ro.

Cristian Băicuş, an internist at the Colentina Hospital, explains that hydroxychloroquine only helps to shorten the disease for a few days and that studies show that mortality increased when this drug was used.
On treatment with Lopinavir-Ritonavir, Ionuţ Nistor, a nephrologist at Parhon Hospital in Iaşi, says that the studies show no benefit. The two sent the memorandum to the Ministry of Health and the INSP and requested the withdrawal of these drugs from the treatment scheme.

They recall that Didier Raoult, the controversial French doctor, has been undergoing treatment with hydroxychloricin since spring.
Prof. Dr. Cristian Băicuş, physician at the Colentina Hospital, member of the advisory board of Cochrane Romania: “The bottom line is that hydroxychloroquine does not help the main effects for the patient, in the best case and three days. When I took COVID, I took it for two days, after which I had a stomachache and gave up.

And I gave up more because I didn’t really believe in him. Not only do you have a simple stomach ache, you realize that when you think that something is saving your life, you no longer think of a stomach ache, but because I didn’t really believe in it, I gave up after two days. “
Assoc Ionuț Nistor, doctor at CI Parhon Hospital: “The beginning was chaotic, as we remember, we use unconventional experimental therapies to be able to treat and this is done when you don’t know anything about a disease, you use what you have on hand starting.

After seven months we can say that the evidence has started to accumulate and we can put aside some drugs that we have used so far. This October 5 study shows that lopinavir therapy is beneficial in treating COVID-19 patients.
These are randomized studies, conducted in thousands of patients. And what unfortunately shows that this therapy has no benefits, on the contrary we can say that it is a therapy associated with side effects ”.

The drugs appear in the approved treatment scheme by order no. 487 / 23.03.2020.
Assoc Ionuț Nistor, doctor at CI Parhon Hospital: “I think it is necessary to modify this ministerial order as urgently as possible, in view of these older or newer records and to leave in these protocols only what has been useful so far.
