Two 12-year-old American boys made a fortune in a pandemic through a unique method

Two 12-year-old American boys managed to earn no less than $ 250,000 during the pandemic, after coming up with a clever idea for hanging decorations on the Christmas tree. The children donated part of the money to animal shelters in Coonecticut, the city where they live.

Ayaan and Mickey Naqvi are 12 years old and love Christmas traditions like making candy and wrapping gifts. But most of all, they like to decorate the tree with familiar ornaments, writes CNN.

One day when the two brothers from Connecticut were hanging the ornaments, one fell off and broke. Thus was born his invention, called “Anchor”, a safer way to hang decorations. Anchor has a device that securely holds the ornaments to the tree, rather than hanging them in a conventional way.

Ayaan tried Anchor on a school project last year, and when the booth was full, he knew he and his brother had done a great job. The invention quickly became a business.

“My brother and I worked to design the product, the patent, create a website, calculate profit margins and do our own market analysis,” Ayaan told CNN, quoted by Mediafax.

After selling for more than $ 1,000 in the first six hours of a local holiday fair last year, the boys decided to present their product on a larger scale. Within months, Good Morning America introduced the product, which was enthusiastically received by Americans.

In just one year, Ayaan and Mickey have earned more than $ 250,000 and have donated and will continue to donate 10% of their profits to animal shelters.

Although the boys are enjoying success, 2020 has not been an easy year to start a new business.

“Starting a new business just three months before the crisis and then all of a sudden quarantine and homeschooling,” Ayaan says. “We take small steps every day and are so amazed at all the positive responses from the project!” Said one of the inventors.
