More than 90,000 people and thousands of restaurants were checked, and the fines imposed in 24 hours reached a considerable amount, more than 1 million lei. 5,500 people were penalized for not wearing a protective mask and four criminal cases were drawn up to thwart the fight against the disease.

Interior Ministry officials have screened more than 92,000 people and about 11,600 attractions in the past 24 hours, including 4,400 restaurants, terraces and fast-food outlets, Monica Dajbog, a spokeswoman for the institution, said on Saturday. .

Preventive activities, but also road filters, are periodically organized in congested areas and arteries in order to verify compliance with health protection measures, including in the activity of transporting people, says the Ministry of the Interior.

The verifications were directed at more than 6,400 economic operators, 227 passenger transport operators and approximately 11,600 targets of interest, including restaurants, terraces or fast food.

In the last 24 hours, more than 6,600 sanctions were applied, of which 5,500 were applied for not wearing a protective mask. The value of the fines exceeds 1.2 million lei, said Monica Dajbog.

Likewise, more than 1,000 sanctions were applied for non-compliance with the measures related to the organization or participation in public or private events or the regulations regarding the development of passenger transport or those related to the organization of the work program.

Approximately 6,600 policemen, 4,200 gendarmes, 1,700 ISU personnel, 150 border policemen and 2,610 local policemen participated in the control activities, as well as representatives of ANSVSA, the National Authority for Consumer Protection, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Labor. . , Ministry of Transport and local public authorities.

Actions to protect the health of citizens will continue in the next period, warns the Interior Ministry.
