- The head of the Romanian Football Federation, Răzvan Burleanu, said that he will meet with MTS representatives and that he wants to propose that teams start training in small groups from now on.
“We have already requested a meeting between MTS representatives and our specialists. At this time, as the documentation shows, we don’t know if these terms in the order are recommendations or rules that everyone should follow.
We want to start training. This is also the proposal that we launched to MTS: training in groups of four players, on May 15, immediately after the launch of the emergency. So that after June 1 we can carry out joint training for all the teams. It would be very useful to start on May 15, because on May 25 we have to communicate to UEFA the schedule for the resumption of internal competitions.
Now, if we don’t have positive feedback from the staff of the League 1 and League 2 teams, we won’t be able to start before June 13. If we don’t start on June 13, we certainly won’t complete the tiebreaker for League 1 and the Romanian Cup in the current competition format. There are two scenarios. One depends on UEFA, another depends on FRF.
- In the first case, we need a change to the July 20 deadline, when we must notify UEFA of the teams participating in the European Cups.
- In the second case, we will have to find a way to end League 1 or the Romanian Cup with fewer games.
The second scenario has great possibilities of being applied in League 2, where there are still 14 games to play.“Răzvan Burleanu said on Digi 24.
