Colonel Bogdan Enescu, head of the Romanian Gendarmerie, appeared this Thursday at the DNA headquarters in a case in which it is suspected that he illegally approved hundreds of overtime hours, in a state of emergency, and therefore illegally collects tens of thousands of lei. . He said he did not get a lawyer and, in his opinion, he is innocent.

“I did not get a lawyer. In my opinion, I am innocent. There are technical aspects that the prosecutor in the case will clarify,” said Bogdan Enescu.

When asked if he should resign, he said that “under no circumstances did we get into such speculation.”

The file was opened by DNA after a notification made by the Control Body of the Ministry of the Interior.

In July, checks were carried out at the Romanian Gendarmerie, finding that the head of this institution, Colonel Bogdan Enescu, but also two former chiefs, Colonel Ionuț Cătălin Sindile and General Constantin Florea, had illegally approved hundreds of overtime hours, in state of emergency, and would have illegally collected tens of thousands of lei.

Only the head of the Gendarmerie would have illegally approved 900 additional hours of work, the damage being about 40,000 lei. He would have approved overtime in the case of the two subordinates.

The charge is usurping the charge.

According to Digi24 sources, the damage is about 80,000 lei.

The other two Gendarmerie chiefs would also be heard this week on DNA.
