“There is no action behind many online stores.”

Economic consultant Adrian Negrescu warns of binge drinking behavior during Black Friday-type “drinking holidays.”

“Let’s be a little more responsible! Don’t believe everything online retailers say, that sales are going to increase, that they have very big discounts and so on because these are just a few tricks to attract you. For example, in addition to the great deals. online, people now borrow from IFN to buy things on Black Friday that they ultimately don’t need, “says Adrian Negrescu.

The consultant says Romanians have learned, in recent years, to recognize so-called deep discounts and are a bit more moderate. At the same time, I follow the price comparators which, during these periods, record extremely high traffic values. Furthermore, Romanians have become even more careful where to buy.

“This aspect is very important because, unfortunately, many online stores have appeared on the market with tempting offers, but behind them there is no stock. They are simply placed on the site, and based on the orders they receive. Then I make the purchase of the respective merchandise, hence the longer delivery times, and we see the representatives of the large online stores who say that they expect long delivery times, yes, because they use exactly this strategy. “We launched the offer and only then did we import the goods. Why do I do this? Because 90% of companies that operate online are under-capitalized. I mean they don’t have the money to secure their shares.” Negrescu adds.

According to him, Romanians are much more attentive in recent years to delivery times and more to quality than to price.

Especially in the area of accessories and furniture are the biggest problems. There, delays in deliveries can reach several months and that is because there is no clear and well-defined regulation and there is no good legislation in force. Then each merchant can delay the delivery of the product indefinitely ”, thinks the consultant.

The authorities are already outdated

When we buy a product we have to follow the evolution of its price for a longer period of time because the authorities are overwhelmed by this and are no longer efficient.

“It is an explosion of online commerce. This business will reach 5,500 million euros this year, 30% more than last year, the online segment being among the winners of the crisis and, unfortunately, we do not have a control area that monitors very well what online commerce means ”, says the expert.

For this reason, says the analyst, the entire burden of security falls on the buyer. “It is very important to check if the site has a company behind it and, above all, if that company is bankrupt or not. There is still an insolvent or bankrupt company that continues to sell products online. without those products existing ”, declared Negrescu.

Check the price on the manufacturer’s website.

“Another trick is to go to the manufacturer’s website to see the actual price of the product. It is a method that is frequently practiced abroad. For example, if you want to buy a TV, you can go to the manufacturer’s website to” See which one. It is the official sale price. From what you see on the manufacturer’s website and what the online retailer offers, you can see if there is a significant price difference, that is, a big discount or not, “added the consultant.

Exhausted

A marketing strategy that online stores use is to advertise that they have many cheap products online, but when you want to buy them, you notice that they are out of stock, so you limit the customer’s purchase option. to a few products.

“Most of the time, buying these products is done on impulse, even if they are more expensive, especially if you see that the product you wanted is no longer in stock and you say ‘let’s get something’. Do you think that the respective product is worth or not as much as you give it ”, says the specialist.

Shelf or resealed products sold like new

It also draws attention to another deceptive online store strategy.
“Much attention! Anything that means offline products, such as televisions that have been kept on the shelf for sale and example, or appliances that have been kept in stores, are imported and sold now during Black Friday. They are used products. which are now sold at deep discounts among Black Friday products. It is a method by which stores reduce their stocks and try to reduce their losses. That is why it is very important that when you buy a product like this, at home , “Being sealed and avoid, as a general rule, buying unsealed products. We have real imports of unsealed products, at very low prices and to be sold in Romania at significantly higher prices”, warns Adrian Negrescu, manager of Frames.
