Gabriela Firea joins those who question the veracity of Sunday’s vote in the local elections. Firea, who lost the capital City Council to Nicușor Dan, also speaks of contesting the election result.

“There are indications that things were not going well at all polling stations. STS tablets failed in many departments and did not work for a long time. At 9:00 p.m., due to a blockade, it was no longer possible to scan the ballots, but it was possible to film what was happening at the voting station. These images can be analyzed and you can see what happened at the voting stations. Our supervisors were marginalized, taken off the table ”, declared Gabriela Firea on Tuesday night, on RTV.

The PSD leadership is thinking of contesting the vote in the capital, because “it is the PSD’s debt to the people of Bucharest.”

“We decided by mutual agreement to review the minutes and figures today and throughout the period. Beyond me, to clearly say that we have decided that we are going to challenge this, there are indications that the result is not exactly reality and may be related to what happened on Election Day, when at noon we had several percent over Nicusor Dan. Gabriela Firea stated on RomaniaTV.

BEC announced new partial results for the local elections, on Tuesday, at 8:00 p.m.: Nicuşor Dan, an independent candidate supported by PNL and USR PLUS, obtained 42.79% of the votes for the position of Mayor General of the Capital, and the current mayor, Gabriela Firea (PSD) – 37.98%. The data from the Central Electoral Office come after counting approximately 97.92% of the votes.
