Former Oradea Mayor Ilie Bolojan, newly elected Chairman of the Bihor City Council, announced at his first press conference since taking office that he will lay off half of CJ’s employees: 86 will be laid off and 88 will remain.
Ilie Bolojan said Tuesday that many CJ employees do not really have the “object of the job” but receive high salaries, including bonuses of up to 50% for participating in European projects “with little interest.” The monthly salary fund of the County Council amounts to 270,000 euros.
According to Bihoreanul.ro, the president of the Bihor City Council announced that in the first meeting of the council, which will take place this Thursday, it will be put to a vote (and, given that PNL has the necessary simple majority, the project will be voted) institution.
This means “reducing the workforce by 174 positions, so as of December 1 we intend to keep 88 employees.”
Bolojan said that “in almost all departments the staffing scheme was overloaded” and that “there are entire structures with no object of activity”, giving as an example the structure that, in writing, deals with the management of protected areas, given that “for more than two years its management has been made by a state authority, and the employees of the structure actually had other tasks.”
The new Bihor County Council chairman said that in some cases, people don’t even have adequate office space as there are too many.
Bolojan presented the new organization chart that will be voted on on Thursday: the cabinet of the president of the CJ will be reduced from 6 positions (all occupied) to 3, and those of the vice presidents from 2 positions to one each, Bihoreanul also shows.
According to the new organization chart, some Directorates will disappear in the current organization, turning into services or simple compartments (an example is the Heritage Department). The General Directorate of Economy will be reduced from 56 to 27 employees, the Chief Architect Directorate from 21 to 16, the Technical Directorate from 37 to 20.
At the same time, Bolojan specified that starting next week, the selection of the people who will continue to be employed within the CJ will be made through tests.
“After voting on the organization chart, where there will be two or more people who wish to fill a position, the tie will be made by examination,” he said, adding that the current commissions will be represented, with members from outside the institution. employees.
“Despite all the concerns, it will show that in the next period the Provincial Council will function better with half of the workforce,” added Bolojan, adding that the money saved by non-payment of salaries will be used to co-finance the development projects of the region.
