Romania registers the worst daily coronavirus balance this Thursday: 6,481 cases reported in the last 24 hours, being for the first time when the threshold of 6,000 new diseases is exceeded. According to data provided by the Strategic Communication Group, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the pandemic is 229,040. Another 83 deaths were recorded on the last day and 868 patients were admitted to intensive care.
To date, on October 29, in Romania, 229,040 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been confirmed.
Following the tests carried out at the national level, with respect to the last report, 6,481 new cases of SARS – CoV – 2 infected people were reported, these being cases that have not previously had a positive test. Aside from the newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 625 people were positively reconfirmed.
To date, 6,764 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
Between 10/28/2020 (10:00 AM) and 10/29/2020 (10:00 AM) 83 deaths were reported (52 men and 31 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Caraș-Severin, Constanța, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Galați, Giurgiu, Harghita , Ialomița, Iași, Maramureș, Mehedinți, Mureș, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest. Of these, 5 deaths were recorded in the age group 40 to 49 years, 6 deaths in the age group 50 to 59, 18 deaths in the age group 60 to 69, 28 deaths in the age group of 70 to 79 and 26 deaths in the category of over 80 years.
81 of the deaths registered are of some patients who presented comorbidities, 1 deceased patient did not present comorbidities and for 1 deceased patient, no comorbidities have been reported to date.
In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 10,975. Of these, 868 are hospitalized in ATI.
To date, 3,169,978 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 36,169 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 22,182 according to the case definition and medical protocol and 13,987 upon request.
In Romania, 27,834 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are isolated at home and 10,602 people are in institutional isolation. In addition, 52,185 people are in home quarantine and 51 people are in institutionalized quarantine.
Since the start of the pandemic, 163,852 patients have been declared cured.
