“The UDMR has no place in the Romanian Parliament”

AUR reacted to the UDMR statement, which said that “there was no need for such a thing in the Romanian Parliament”, conveying that, in fact, the Hungarian party “has no place” in the legislature.

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) described Kelemen Hunor’s statements as “absurd”, “who considers that AUR has nothing to do with Parliament”, shows the co-chairman of the party, George Simion, quoted by Pro TV News .

“The UDMR has no place in the Romanian Parliament. We respect the Hungarian community in Romania and we have ethnic Hungarian candidates in the GOLD entering the legislature. The GOLD, however, opposes the establishment and operation of political formations with criteria ethnic groups for reforming the Constitution in the sense of prohibiting political formations with ethnic criteria ”, the AUR leader transmits.

The president of the UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, declared this Monday in RFI that “there was no need for such a thing in the Romanian Parliament, in 2020”, referring to the entry of AUR into the legislature after Sunday’s elections.

“There was no need for such force in Parliament, but the citizens have solved this problem and we will see what happens next and how this party will behave in Parliament, but from my point of view, there was no need for such a thing.” in the Romanian Parliament in 2020, “Kelemen said.

AUR won 9% in the parliamentary elections and thus entered Parliament, while the UDMR gathered 5% of the voters’ votes, according to the partial results.
