The UDMR has appointed its ministers of the future Government

The Permanent Council of the UDMR has established who are the members of the party that will form part of the Government of Cîțu. These are 3 ministerial portfolios and 1 deputy prime minister.

Thus, the permanent council voted Kelemen Hunor, president of the UDMR, for the position of deputy prime minister.

Cseke Attila, former Minister of Health, will occupy the position of Minister of Development, Public Works and Administration. Cseke has been a member of the Romanian parliament since 2008, and in the last term he was the leader of the UDMR senators.

Tánczos Barna has been appointed Minister of the Environment, Water and Forests. He was Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Tourism. He has been a senator since 2012.

Novak Eduard, Paralympic cyclist, world and European champion, has been appointed Minister of Youth and Sports. He began his sports career as a speed skater, winning several international competitions in Italy, Germany, Austria and Ukraine. After a car accident in 1996, he turned to cycling. He participated in four Paralympic Games. First in Athens, then in Beijing, where he won a silver medal, and in 2012 from London he returned with two medals: one silver and one gold, thus becoming Romania’s first Paralympic champion. Eduard Novak participated in three races at Rio and placed fifth, sixth and ninth. Since 2013 he is the president of the Romanian Cycling Federation.
