Miriuţă was born on September 19, 1968 in Baia Mare and started playing football at FC Baia Mare (1988-1990), after which he moved to Dinamo (1990-1991), Gloria Bistriţa (1991-1992). He went abroad, where he played for Gyor, Bourges, Videoton, Ferencvaros, Energie Cottbus, MSV Duisburg, again Gyor and Honved Budapest. In total, he played 354 games for the listed teams, scoring no less than 70 goals.
