Maria Meşter worked as a housekeeper in Italy, in Milan, but she quickly found a way to raise much more money than her modest job. Tired of cleaning the dust and cleaning the houses of the Italians, she discovered unexpected quirks, so she resigned and left Italy. And he demonstrated extraordinary inventiveness and courage when, along with his son, Bogdan Savastru and two other Romanians, Alexandru Stan and Sorin Marcovici, he committed several robberies, mostly in London.

The blow of life

According to the BBC, Maria Meşter, helped by the other three members of the gang, gave the blow of her life on December 13, 2019. On December 13, 2019, the Romanian stole the villa of Tamara Ecclestone, the tycoon’s daughter owner of Formula 1, where he stole jewelery and items worth £ 25 million.

Maria took advantage of the fact that Tamara and her husband, Jay Rutland, had gone on vacation for three weeks and entered the sumptuous residence unhindered, from where they stole several valuables. English journalists say that the Romanians acted like Spiderman.

According to prosecutors, they only stole a precious collection of jewelry from the house of the billionaire’s daughter, including a Cartier watch that received a wedding gift worth 95,000 euros. At the same time, the tycoon’s daughter also claimed the disappearance of high-value rings and earrings, as well as a bracelet worth more than $ 100,000. Earlier, on December 1, the Romanians stormed the villa of Frank Lapard, Chelsea coach, from where they also left with rich loot.

Prosecutor Paul Jarvis pointed out the difficulty of the action, since the gang members had to climb several fences and cross two other properties, so the risk they were exposed to was significant. Between the two robberies, the four Romanians also broke into the family residence of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the late owner of the Leicester football team, from where they stole items worth one million pounds.

However, British prosecutors did not rule out the possibility that Maria Meşter had struck other, in a matter of robberies amounting to an impressive 60 million pounds.

The Romanian woman was captured and arrested shortly after the robbery, at London Stansted Airport, as she was preparing to flee to Japan. At the time, she was wearing a 300,000-pound pair of earrings, among those stolen from Tamara Ecclestone’s villa. Investigators found other evidence, including a photo posted by Maria on Facebook where she also wears a necklace that belongs to the mogul’s daughter.

His son, Bogdan Savastru, was also arrested a few days later, but at another London airport, Heathrow. Later, the other two members of the gang, Alexandru Stan, a security agent, were arrested along with the bartender Sorin Marcovici. All four deny any involvement in the robberies, but are officially charged in this case and the trial is taking place at Isleworth Crown Court.
