On Thursday, the PSD National Political Council decided to exclude MP Ion Ganea. The decision of the PSD leadership comes in the context in which it was absent from the meeting of the Senate Permanent Office, which had to introduce into the debate the bill that could postpone the date of the parliamentary elections.
Sources within the PSD told HotNews.ro that Ion Ganea was expelled from the party at the meeting of the National Political Council. Ganea will also be replaced as secretary of the Senate Permanent Office in plenary session.
The PSD group leader, Radu Oprea, declared that Ion Ganea “was bought by PNL” to be absent from the meetings of the Permanent Senate Office, in this way the quorum is not achieved because the bill for which the You can postpone the parliamentary elections to be included in the agenda.
PSD president Marcel Ciolacu said before the CPN meeting that the bill that stipulates that Parliament sets the date for the elections will be approved by the Legislative Forum next week and will be sent for enactment until 6 November, when the electoral campaign should begin.
President Klaus Iohannis sent the law to Parliament for review last week, which stipulated that the Legislature is the one that sets the date of the elections. The president’s move prevents the law from being applied and leads to a date when he can no longer achieve his goal of postponing the December 6 election.
