The PSD National Political Council decided on Tuesday not to debate the motion of no confidence in Parliament before a decision by the Constitutional Court, announced the leader of the Social Democratic deputies, Alfred Simonis.

Regarding the motion of censure, the decision of the National Political Council was not to debate this motion before a decision of the Constitutional Court because, you know very well, it was presented in extraordinary session and its approval, its debate in ordinary session. it could have elements of unconstitutionality. Therefore, the motion of censure will not be debated in the next period until a decision of the Constitutional Court ”, Simonis specified, after the meeting of the PSD leadership.

He said that, at this point, it is too early for PSD to consider initiating another vote of no confidence.

“We are one day away from the confirmation of the majority that the PNL with USR, PMP and UDMR and other parliamentary groups have spoken in the Romanian Parliament. I think it is too early to discuss another vote of no confidence at this time,” he said. . Simonis added.

On Monday, the session of Parliament in which the vote of no confidence was debated and voted could not be carried out due to lack of a quorum. After the roll call, only 226 parliamentarians attended the meeting, requiring the presence of 233 deputies and senators.
