UPDATE 11:00 – The protest ended in the University Square, where, by the way, it started. So far no fines have been imposed, but it is still possible in the next few hours, according to the Gendarmerie. There are still some legitimate people, but most of the people have returned to their homes, given that it is raining outside and it is quite cold.
UPDATE 9:50 – Representatives of galleries in the Capital also joined the protests. He is alert among the police and gendarmes present at the amnesties to guarantee public order and peace. The protesters are preparing to leave for the Cotroceni Palace.
UPDATE 20:30 – The protesters reached Victoriei Square. Although it has started to rain, people do not seem scared. On the contrary, still without a mask and regardless of distance, they warmed up the Union Choir. From here, the protesters will go to the Parliament and, later, to the Cotroceni Palace, the last stop according to information from Realitatea PLUS.
Because it is after 20:00, the evening restrictions went into effect, due to the high infection rate in Bucharest. However, as it is Catholic Easter and people can be out of their homes between 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM, protesters will take advantage of this exception to the rule.

The journalists present at the protest continue to be booed, cursed and even pushed because they manipulate – say the protesters – the data coming from the Strategic Communication Group. “There is no pandemic! There is no virus! Freedom! Get out of the house, we want a normal life!”, Shout the protesters, who demand the lifting of the restrictions.
UPDATE 17:30 – In just half an hour, the number of participants increased to 1000. The gendarmes began to identify people without masks. However, not wearing the mask in public space is exactly one of the protesters’ demands. The police and the gendarmerie continue to serve the area. Soon, the protesters will march towards Victoriei Square.
People are reluctant to journalists, who they boo and accuse of truncating information and even manipulating it, regarding the daily figures of the COVID pandemic, figures that are transmitted by the Strategic Communication Group and taken by the media of communication.
UPDATE 17:00 – About 200 people gathered in the Plaza de la Universidad. People don’t wear a mask and don’t follow the rules of social disengagement. There are also many police cars in the area.
“I am here for freedom, for fundamental rights, for the Romanian Constitution. I am dissatisfied with all the aberrant responses from the authorities. Why all the authorities are on the same plate: vaccination. (…) I don’t understand how Ronia’s most famous institute does not answer the question of what the vaccines contain. (…) Although they also involved the Army, although we have a night colonel, we have no answers. The measures taken during a year and a month do not work . Chronic, we have cancer patients (…) but we are only talking about Covid. It is not only about HORECA, but also about publishers, schools. We are in a collapse from which we do not know how it will come out, “said Gabriela Calițescu, participant of the protest in the Capital and, at the same time, a television journalist.
UPDATE ORA 16:00 – 130 people are gathered in the Plaza Universitaria de la Capital. We are talking about people dissatisfied with the measures imposed by the authorities. The protesters say they will march to Victoriei Square, and from there they will go to Parliament to shout their complaints. People came with flags, vuvuzas and banners. They want a normal life and say that existing restrictions prevent them from leading such a life.
The organizers say, in turn, that they want to have a peaceful protest, mentioning that they expect the participation of more than a few hundred people.
UPDATE ORA 15:00 – In the University Square, the number of protesters increased to about 30 people. The protest also began in the Plaza de la Revolución, in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior. And here are about 20 people. Diana Șoșoacă is also expected in the Revolution Square.
UPDATE ORA 14:00 – The first protest started in the University Square but after an hour only 20 people gathered.
Today the capital will be the scene of several protests. Those who can no longer bear the restrictions of the pandemic will take to the streets again. Demonstrations are announced in University Square and Revolution Square.
The first protest takes place at 1 in the afternoon in the University Square and there those organized by the Civic Group meet with the state of freedom.
A second protest is also held at the University, in the wells area, at the request of the AUR, but around 3:00 p.m.
A third protest is also announced at 3 in the afternoon, but in another part of the Capital: in front of the Ministry of the Interior. Supporters of Senator Diana Șoșoacă are expected here.
Afterwards, all the protesters would gather in Victoriei Square, the usual place for these protests. However, it is possible that the protesters, if they gather in sufficient numbers, will march in other areas of Bucharest, as they did on the other days.
For about a week, these types of protests have been taking place every day in the capital, but also in the country’s big cities, where protesters are gathering in front of the prefectures. People want to be heard, so the demonstrations are expected to continue in the coming days.
