The product that is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to buy at the pharmacy. Maria Georgescu: THEY DON’T WANT!

Maria Georgescu, director of ARAS, explained exclusively to DC NEWS which is the most difficult product to buy in a pharmacy in Romania.

Syringes are not so readily available in pharmacies. All pharmacies are private and pharmacies do not want to enter the social assistance area. They don’t want drug users in pharmacies because they are agitated. Many times when they enter the pharmacy, they are out of weaning, they quickly look for a syringe to inject themselves. For at least 15 years we have been working with the College of Pharmacists that this is good, this is civil, this is also the case in Paris and London. You can get syringes from the pharmacy, you can take used syringes to the pharmacy, and you can buy a syringe, because it doesn’t cost much. In Romania it is difficult to buy syringes in a pharmacy.

Regarding the price, people with money do not come to our services, disadvantaged consumers come. Drug users are not just people with money. The troubled people who took drugs because they passed in front of them, because they were forced to distribute, because they entered this area, yes. Consume and mother, father, they are entire families of addicts and consumers! They do not have health or family health insurance and are socially marginalized. I live in abusively occupied houses, I mean in the central areas of Bucharest. Let’s go there! ”Said Maria Georgescu, director of ARAS, exclusively for DC NEWS and DC MEDICAL.
