In the last 24 hours, 1,271 new cases of COVID-19 were registered out of 6,162 tests carried out. Another 30 Romanians have died from coronavirus infections, while 557 patients are hospitalized in intensive care, a new record for seriously ill patients since the start of the pandemic.

To date, on September 28, in Romania, 123,944 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

99,344 patients were declared cured.

After tests carried out at the national level, compared to the last report, 1,271 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Apart from newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who were already positive, 246 people were positively reconfirmed.

To date, 4,748 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

Between 27.09.2020 (10:00) – 28.09.2020 (10:00) there were 30 deaths (15 men and 15 women), of some patients infected by the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Alba, Arad, Argeș, Bacău, Bihor, Botoșani, Cluj, Constanța, Dolj, Gorj, Maramureș, Prahova, Tulcea, Vaslui, Vrancea and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was recorded in the age group 20 to 29 years, 1 death in the age group 40 to 49 years, 2 deaths in the age category 50 to 59 years, 7 deaths in the age group age 60 to 69 years, 10 deaths in the age category 70 to 79 years and 9 deaths in the category over 80 years.

29 of the deaths recorded were from patients who had comorbidities and one deceased patient had no comorbidities.

In specialized health units, the total number of people hospitalized for COVID-19 is 7,528. Of these, 557 are hospitalized in ATI.

To date, 2,372,340 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 6,162 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 4,306 according to case definition and medical protocol and 1,856 by request.

In Romania, 10,331 people confirmed with the new coronavirus infection are in isolation at home and 7,395 people are in institutional isolation. Additionally, 24,136 people are in home quarantine and 179 people are in institutionalized quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 632 calls were registered to the single emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55 of 05/15/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, in the last 24 hours, 211 penalties for minor offenses, amounting to 70,100 lei.

Likewise, through the competent structures of the Police, yesterday 4 crimes were found to frustrate the fight against diseases, a fact provided and sanctioned by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the public that the Ministry of the Interior has put into operation, as of 04/07/2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where infractions to sanitary protection regulations can be notified.

The calls are answered by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified issues.

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, it was confirmed that 6,693 Romanian citizens were infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 1,917 in Italy, 1,253 in Spain, 124 in France, 2,935 in Germany, 159 in Great Britain, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the US, 119 in Austria, 20 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 93 in Greece , 5 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Republic of the Congo, Hungary and Qatar.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic and so far, 126 Romanian citizens abroad, 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 11 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the United States, one in Brazil, one in the Republic of Congo and one in Greece, they have died.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 428 were declared cured: 308 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
